Comin’ In Hot Merchandising Motivation

This year’s Merchandising Display Contest theme celebrates trending flavors that will spice up this season’s sweet corn recipes. Complimenting the sweetness of Florida-grown sweet corn with the heat of trending spices and recipes, your display will introduce your customers to new ways to enjoy sweet corn.

Contest Rules

  1. Display Period:
    Your Sunshine Sweet Corn display must be in place for at least one (1) week during the contest period, from April 8 to May 31, 2024.

  2. Qualifying Products:
    Qualifying displays must include fresh Florida-grown sweet corn (bag, bulk, or both). Displays may NOT include sweet corn products from other states. If a submitted display includes sweet corn from another state, it will be considered ineligible. 

  3. Point-of-Sale Materials:
    Display point-of-sale (POS) materials must include the 2024 special-themed POS material from Sunshine Sweet Corn Farmers of Florida (SSCFF). You may also create your own display support materials. Creativity is encouraged!

  4. Entry Limit:
    Display entries are limited to one (1) per store and can be any size. It’s not about how large or small the display is; it’s about the creativity of the merchandising.

  5. Judging Criteria:
    •     Display entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
    • Use of Florida-grown sweet corn
    • Use of contest point-of-sale materials
    • Salability of the merchandising display
    • Creative elements

  6. Prizes:
    Prizes will be awarded by Sunshine Sweet Corn Farmers of Florida as follows:
    • Platinum: One (1) Winner - $2500
    • Gold: One (1) Winner - $1000
    • Silver: One (1) Winner - $500
    • Bronze: Five (5) Winners - $100 each

  7. Submission Deadline:
    All entries must be received digitally by SSCFF no later than June 1, 2024. Winners will be notified the week of June 10, 2024, and all winners will be publicly announced and published the week of June 17, 2024.

  8. Award Distribution:
    Prizes will be awarded to winning entrants by July 31, 2024, subject to verification by SSCFF of all completed entry documents and applicable information.

  9. Submission Process:
    All entries must be submitted digitally through https://sunshinesweetcorn.com/ and include all official details required. Up to 5 digital photos of the display are required to accompany submissions. An email will be sent to you confirming that your entry was received.

  10. Photo Quality:
    Displays are judged by the photos received. Be sure to use a good camera with the highest-quality photo settings to show off all your hard work!

  11. Ownership of Entries:
    Entries become the property of SSCFF. By entering, you permit SSCFF to use your entry for publicity or advertising purposes. The contest is available to U.S. retailers only.

  12. Prize Distribution:
    Prizes will be distributed by check from SSCFF to the person named on the entry form. Checks will be written from the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association (FFVA).
